Honeysuckle Hobday

Honeysuckle was a caring young girl. Her father had married a Muggle woman who, when she found out that her husband was a wizard, had left him to care for Honeysuckle and her newborn baby brother by himself. Her father, a wizard working in the Magical Maintenance Department at the Ministry, had to work long hours to make ends meet, so Honeysuckle was left to care for Oakden and his upbringing.

Her Hogwarts years were tough. She couldn’t help but to constantly worry about her father and her little brother. She liked the life at the school, but she spent almost every night penning letters to her father, asking about how life was at home. Her grades suffered a fair bit, and it wasn’t until her last year, when Oakden finally got sorted, that she could relax. But by that time it was too late.

After she graduated she became a receptionist at the Ministry, saving ever Knut she could spare. She made sure to visit Hogsmeade whenever Oakden had a trip with his classmates, and they spent the day wandering the streets, talking about his day-to-day life. When she had saved up enough money, she bought a small cottage at the edge of Hogsmeade, where she earned money by knitting scarves and blankets for the other villagers.

Honeysuckle never married. Her Hogwarts sweetheart, a short stout wizard by the name of Boris Falstaff, left her for a witch he met on a trip to France, and Honeysuckle could never bring herself to open up her heart to another man again. Her biggest dream was to have children of her own, so when Oakden introduced her to the orphan William Whisp, she took him in without a second thought. She cared for him as if he was her own child, and she had never been happier. She lived with her adopted son and her two Kneazles, Helga and Huckleberry, until her passing.

The Hobdays has always trotted on the light side of magic. Aurors, Defense Against the Dark Arts professors, and Healers have all carried the name with proud and grace. Down to earth, and not in pompous in the least, the Hobdays are some of the most likable witches and wizards in Britain.
