Honeysuckle Whisp
Honeysuckle knew since the day she was born that she had a lot to live up to. Her father couldn’t stop talking about how amazing her namesake had been, how Honeysuckle Hobday had taken him in and raised him as her own. This made Honeysuckle, that’s Whisp, not Hobday, resent her father. She started to resent how high in regard she held Honeysuckle the First, and rebelled earlier than anyone would have thought.
It was during her Hogwarts years that it reached a breaking point. She decided to stay at the school during Christmas, despite her family only living in the village on the other side of the gates, and even though her father had tried relentlessly to get her to come back, she refused. She wanted to distance herself as much as she could from her family, and all that Honeysuckle the First stood for.
She started dabbling in the Dark Arts - old spells, ancient curses, and questionable charms seeped into her life. And she embraced them. By the time she turned forty, her house had as dark an aura as Azkaban did. Some even credit the murder of Philip and Betty Collins, a Muggle couple living in the same town, to her. It was a murder more gruesome than anyone would care to admit. Although Honeysuckle never denied it, there wasn’t enough evidence to convict her.
In 1882 her house mysteriously exploded. Obliviators worked day and night for a week to make sure none of the villagers of Aviemore remembered the green smoke the rose from the ruins of the house after the incident. Honeysuckle’s body was never found, but it is strongly believed that she perished in the explosion. To be frank, most people hoped she did.
