Alcaster Whisp
Alcaster was the son of a Muggle-born wizard and a Pure-blood witch. He grew up in Hogsmeade with his parents and two sisters. During his childhood he managed to get his hands on his parents’ wands on numerous occasions, and because of snails suspiciously exploding in the garden, his parents had to keep their wands locked away when they weren’t using them.
During his Hogwarts years he showed a proficiency for Charms and Transfiguration. By his second year he was already turning hedgehogs into pincushions, and casting freezing spells during the spring months. He even managed, under the guidance of his professor, to get an article published in Transfiguration Today when he was only sixteen. So, when he took a job at the Improper Use of Magic office upon graduation, the people around him were all surprised.
However, he did his job well, and made sure he knew the law by heart, and filed his reports in time. What his colleagues didn’t know, let alone his wife, was that he was also scrutinising the law’s loopholes. His love for experimenting with a wand hadn’t decreased since he was a child. If anything, it had grown stronger He kept a large chest in the attic, one with an Undetectable Extension Charm on it, in which he kept doing his experiments.
He had managed to hide his hobby expertly from everyone, until the day his wife Leopoldina managed to get into the chest. She immediately reported him to his own department, filed for a divorce, and left with their son Warwick. Alcaster was sent to Azkaban for a seven year sentence, but he didn’t handle the Dementors well and died without two years.
