Born a Parkin, Morven had a long line of Quidditch players behind her. Being a descendant of one of the original Wigtown Wanderers, the broomstick game had been part of her family for generations. But even though it was such a prominent part of the family’s day-to-day life, Morven was never as interested in it as her brothers.

 

It wasn’t until her third at Hogwarts that she discovered her what she was really passionate about - birds. Her Care of Magical Creatures teacher, Professor Camilla Cottingley, saw her potential and love for avian beasts, and gave her private tutoring during the weekends. She accepted a job at the Modesty Rabnott Snidget Reservation straight after graduation, and this is where she worked until she retired.

 

Morven was a quiet but caring witch. No-one had a bad word to say about her, and people would often say that she wouldn’t hurt a Flobberworm. She married her older brother Drummond’s best friend, Elliot Smethwyck, and the couple lived a happy life. Morven filled their home with magical birds (the Hercinia birds being her favourite), and the house was always filled with wonderful twittering.

Morven died only three months after her husband succumbed to Dragon pox, because of what everyone believed to be a broken heart.
