Eglantyne Phelps
Eglantyne believed for a long time that it was her father was the greatest wizard of all time. How else could he clean and keep after that big castle all by himself? All those crannies and nooks, all the bedsheets that needed changing, and not to talk about the poltergeist his father had told her about. It wasn’t until she had bragged about it to some of the other kids in the village, and gotten mocked by it in return, that her father sat her down and told her about the house-elves.
By the end of her first year she had already figured out how to get into the Hogwarts kitchen, with a little help from Betty Abbott from Hufflepuff, and was making friends with the elves working there. She started learning their names and their schedules, and soon enough she found an extra heater under her blanket in the winter, and her even her socks pressed neatly.
There was only one clear place for her to work after Hogwarts, but the Office for House-Elf Relocation was not what she had hoped for. She wasn’t doing much, except filing paperwork. Assigned to the small back office at the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures, she barely even got to see the elves she was filing away the names of. The only good thing to come out of that place, she later told her children, was that she met Korrigan there.
Her and Korrigan shared a passion about the welfare of the house-elves, something they felt was lacking at the Department. The couple married, and bought a small house in Carkitt Market, where they opened the House-Elf Placement Agency. Here she felt she could actually help the elves, instead of just seeing a name on a paper. They even got two house-elves to take care of their household; Snout and Quisby.

Relatives
The Whisp family has always been a whimsy one. The name has all sorts of wizards and witches under its flag, from Quidditch historians, to Azkaban prisoners. And it all started with an orphaned Muggle-born wizard from Scotland.
The surname Phelps have come to be associated with witches and wizards who do things a little bit differently than the rest. Jokers, oddballs and down-right strange is some of the words that people have used to describe this family.
